Those Bert and Ernie gear shifters are simply put, the best thing ever.
The Biketorialist
This blog is to bikes, what The Sartorialist is to fashion, only a little bit more tongue in cheek. The blog is a homage to Scott Schuman's one The Sartorialist, if you haven't checked it out do so: www.thesartorialist.com The plan. Hit the streets. Scope out bicycles that show a personal flair. The method is a Nikon D90 and 50mm 1:1.4G lens. The execution. Lots of background blur. Feel free to comment and identify any of the unknown bikes.

KHS Flite 100 single speed bicycle, George St, Sydney
All black with the red hubs that really pop.
The Sydney courier scene seems to have more of the front basket thing going instead of the shoulder satchels of Melbourne.

Surly 1x1 single speed bicycle, Collins St, Melbourne
It's hard to see where the grit ends and the bike begins.
Just when I thought a Surly frame couldn't get any grittier, I can across this 1x1 with a custom black splatter pattern ideal for the muddy winter streets. Needless to say love this paint job.
